Madden Julian Oscillation
A pulse of weather that begins in the West Indian Ocean and then begins a path eastwards to the Indian Ocean and then onwards to the Maritime continent and further near the equator.
Has three weather stages the rainy and convection stage, the dry fine stage trailing or before the rainy phase, and the dissipation stage.
Is a large driver of weather in the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, for Indonesia and the South East Asia area.
The weather system may develop, travel and then dissipate over a 30-90 day envelop before another pulse begins or is delayed.
The MJO displays varying amounts of strength stages Strong/Medium/Weak/Dormant.
This Pulse weather pattern has 4 west to east destinations near the equator then resets back to the west destination after the eastern most region of the pulse is completed in a 30 - 90 day envelop.
