Asian Monsoons

Explanation of the Asian Monsoon pattern.

In the asian area there are times in the year where the monsoons affect different Asian regions and are a important weather feature this is caused by

• Heating of the land or seas in the North of Asia (Summer) and cooling in the south at the Asia South Equator.
• When the above effects are reversed with cooling in the North of Asia (Winter) and Heated Moist air molecules in the South area of the Asian equator.
• High and Low pressure regions created by the above system, with High Pressure always directing towards Low pressure regions = attraction.
• When the High Pressure and Low Pressure areas create wind jets as in the above image.

This weather description is for the Summer Monsoon Pattern in Asia as in the main image but it is important to know that there are two types of monsoon patterns in the year that affect different asian areas bringing rainy days important for crops and livestock and river replenishment. These are the winter and summer Asian monsoons and are vital to Asian Weather in the region.

Sometimes there are disruptions in this pattern and will bring drought conditions to asia in that particular Monsoon pattern time span and Monsoon area. These are the Two Monsoon time spans in the year in Asia.

• The Asian Spring-Summer Monsoon pattern.
• The Asian Winter Monsoon pattern.
• ENSO phases may also affect this weather pattern as also the MJO.

It can be noted that for the Asian Winter Monsoon times in south Asia that convection (thunderstorms) may sprout especially in reference to a nearby storm which will form thunderstorms at the infeed area to the storm leading into the storm centre.
